Ohio Enacts New Congressional Map; Virginia Advances Redistricting Plan

An Ohio commission adopted a new House map on Oct. 31 that will give Republicans two more seats in next year’s midterm elections, and Virginia lawmakers moved forward with their own redistricting plans.

The Ohio Zoning Commission, the constitutional body authorized to establish new district maps, unanimously approved the state’s new maps. The map received bipartisan support, including the committee’s two Democratic members. The organization had a constitutional deadline of October 31st to enact these laws.
