Exclusive: In 193, the new sales joint venture between industry veterans Patrick Wachsberger and Legendary Entertainment collected the team in a recruitment of two people heading to Cannes.
Sara Ghorra has arrived from AGC Studios as VP and Sales, while Tyler Knell has been named Creative Affairs VP. He will be joining from the Picture Perfect Federation. It was founded in 2019 by Wachsberger with the support of Pascal Breton’s Federation Entertainment.
Ghorra reports to Wendy Reeds, EVP and Sales as the team has been preparing for the first Cannes of 193 since its launch in January. Knell reported to Ashley Stern, head of Creative Affairs, and worked for Picture Perfect.
Wachsberger, a celebrity of Croisette of his time as co-head of Summit Entertainment and chairman of Lionsgate’s motion picture group, is assembled a slate of filmmaker-led sales titles.
193 develops and produces features and works with third-party producers and investors on projects at various production stages.
The company recently got into a legendary, completed remake. The Toxic Avenger From Macon Blair starring Peter Dinklege, Bacon, Elijah Wood and Julia Davis. The 1984 Cult Classic was screened by Cannes buyers and was released in North America on August 29th.
Wachsberger will continue to work on the Picture Perfect Federation project, looking for opportunities for Federation Studios and 193 to collaborate on selected international features and series.
