The New England Patriots player is impressed with new “freak” wide receiver Stefon Diggs’ offseason training held at Foxborough.

Diggs has chosen to join forces with free agency star quarterback Drake Maye to become part of an exciting project led by new head coach and former player Mike Vrabel.

In March, the 31-year-old signed a $69 million contract with the Patriot for three years, including a $26 million guarantee.

Diggs is not completely cleared for all football activities as he continues to recover, but teammate Austin Hooper has described him as a “freak” in offseason training so far.

“Energy, you know he’s a freak. He’s just gone from what he got off and you can already see him in the explosion, the change of direction, the top end.

“It says, ‘Dan, hey, that must be good.’

When he suffered an unfortunate injury against the Indianapolis Colts on October 27th, Diggs ranked seventh in the NFL, talliing 496 receiving yards in eight games.

In that pace, in a 17-game season, he would have finished with a century of catch with 1,054 yards and six touchdowns.

Diggs earned first and second team All-Pro honours in 2020 and 2022 with the Buffalo Bills in four straight pro bowls from 2020 to 2023.

He led the league by receiving receptions and yards in his debut season with the Bills, surpassing 100 catches with his new team, receiving yards and becoming the fastest wideout to break Buffalo’s franchise record.

Diggs is one of four players in NFL history, with Antonio Brown, Davante Adams and Marvin Harrison to record four consecutive seasons with over 100 receptions.
