Pauline Durand-Vialle has been appointed as the new executive director of the European Audiovisual Observatory (EAO).

Durand-Vialle is a member of the European Federation of Screen Directors (FERA), which has been CEO since February 2014.

She took office on September 15th, replacing Susanne Nikoltchev, who retired this year after a 27-year career at EAO, first serving as legal director and then executive director.

Durand-Vialle is well aware of the organization as he previously served two terms as chairman of the station’s advisory committee from 2021 to 2024.

In a statement regarding her new appointment, she expressed “a strong commitment to her passion and responsibility towards such a highly regarded European organization.”

Nikoltchev said the observation deck is “equipped with safe hands and equipped for future development.”
