Russia’s latest one-night drone attacked a strike in Ukraine, crashing into a Polish factory in the central city of Vinnitzsia, what the Polish foreign minister described as a target attack on Wednesday.

Overnight in the Russian air bombing, the attacks hit four Ukraine cities and injured at least 15 people in attacks targeting primarily energy infrastructure, officials said.

In a post on X, Polish Foreign Minister Radslaw Sikorski wrote that the director of the Vignitia Ballin Group factory said that the drone had collided with the plant from three directions, and the attack was “intentional.”

“There are injuries, including two people who were seriously burned,” Sikorsky wrote in X, saying that the Ukrainian authorities and the Polish consulate are responding to the incident.

“Putin’s Crime War is approaching our border,” he added.

Vinnytsia Factory is the first overseas branch of the Barlinek Group. It opened in October 2007, with the manufacturer’s floor boards and panels being opened. The Barlinek group belongs to Michał Sołowow, who is estimated to be the wealthiest man in Poland. According to Forbes, his net worth is $13.8 billion (11.9 billion euros), making him the 187th wealthiest person on the planet.

EuroNews reached out to a Barlinek Group spokesman for comment.

Russia will strengthen its air attacks

In the latest overnight attack, Russia launched 400 Sharp and Decoy drones and one ballistic missile, the Ukrainian Air Force said.

The strike targeted the South Odesa and Vinitia, home to Crivii Li, Volodymizelensky’s hometown in central Ukraine.

An escalating air campaign against Russia’s civilian regions will take place amid the September 2nd deadline set by US President Donald Trump to reach peace cooperation in the three-year war, or under the threat of severe Washington sanctions if not.

Trump on Monday pledged to deliver more weapons to Ukraine, including the key Patriot Air Defence System, and threatened to slap additional sanctions against Russia.

Since returning to the White House almost six months ago, it was Trump’s toughest stance against Russian President Vladimir Putin.

However, some US lawmakers and European officials feared that the 50-day deadline handed Putin an opportunity to capture more Ukrainian territory before a settlement to end the battle.

In recent months, Putin’s other US ultimatums have failed to persuade the Russian leader to stop a full-scale invasion of nearby Ukraine.

Tens of thousands of soldiers were killed in the war, many of them along the frontline of over 1,000 kilometers (620 miles), and the barrage of Russian cities killed more than 12,000 Ukrainian civilians, the United Nations said.
