Cryptocurrency prediction market platform Polymarket has announced the launch of a “free grocery store” in New York City. The supermarket opened in New York City on February 12th, with shelves stocked with food donated by New York City food banks.

“As part of our mission to give back to the city we call home, we have donated $1 million to @FoodBank4NYC to fight food insecurity in all five boroughs,” Polymarket said in a statement. “Polymarket is fully stocked so you don’t have to buy. We’re open to all New Yorkers. It’s a real physical investment in our community.”

According to Polymarket, the grocery store construction project will break ground near the end of 2025 and leases have already been signed. Additionally, the company said users can also donate directly to New York City food banks to donate to the new supermarket.

Additionally, Polimarket’s effort to launch a free grocery store is apparently better than Kalsi’s recent free grocery effort. The latter Prediction Market’s products arrived first, offering up to $50 worth of free groceries to shoppers at the Westside Market grocery store in Manhattan’s East Village on Tuesday.

Starting next week, shoppers can visit the free grocery store Polymarket at 7 Madison Avenue in New York City. Earlier this month, the cryptocurrency prediction market platform Announces exclusive partnership with Dow Jones and Wall Street Journal. The agreement will make Polymarket’s real-time predictive market data available across Dow Jones’ consumer platforms, including The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, MarketWatch and Investors Business Daily.
