The first Senate adaptation of President Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful” budget bill for 2026 holds the wholesale slash and clawback of the “green energy” allocation adopted by the House when it passed a version of its spending plan in one vote on May 22.
Although some timelines have been extended, the draft budget, released by the Senate Finance Committee on June 16, greatly replicates the end of the House of Representatives, individual tax credits to purchase electric vehicles, heat pumps, energy-efficient domestic appliances and install rooftop solar panels.
