When Spain jumps into Easter celebrations during Semana Santa (Holy Week), restaurants and bars are profitable more than ever.

Semana Santa is a celebration week consisting of religious rituals and community events. It is one of Spain’s most spectacular celebrations.

The Spanish Hospitality Association, which represents more than 300,000 facilities across Spain, estimates revenues have increased by 10% this year.

A spokesperson for the association told the tourist location: “This year, Semana Santa has been celebrated previously and will benefit from skiing and snow destinations due to recent snow.”

However, the success has spread throughout Spain, as the association also focuses on an increase in coastal towns and religious and historic locations.

The Easter breaks Spanish records as scheduled seats for direct international flights for the season are up 5.2% from last year.

The Turespaña organization says that profit growth of around 3.7 billion euros is expected to grow up to 19 billion euros, which is this Easter, marking it as a success in Spanish history.
