Robert Irwin Swapping wildlife adventures for the ballroom! He is the son of the late crocodile hunter Steve Irwin.
Robert was only two years old when his father, Steve (the beloved “crocodile hunter”) died in 2006 after the Stingray accident. Since then, Robert has continued his father’s legacy and often talks about Steve’s passion for wildlife continuing to inspire him.
“I often come across archive footage I’ve never seen before,” Robert said in an interview with Access Hollywood. “And then, all of a sudden, his memories just start to go back to the flood. So, after losing someone when I was two, I’m odd after decades after having bigger pictures of people he was.”
“As I begin to reach the same kind of milestones that I went as a young man he grew up in, I feel like I’m in a way close to him,” he added. “I’m really, I’m like a superhero figure. He’s this ubiquitous, and to me he’s a superhero. And I’m very grateful for that because I didn’t have much time with my dad, but I have a person who exemplifies everything I want to be life.”

Like his previous father, Robert is a dedicated wildlife conservationist. He works with his mother, Terry IrwinAnd my sister Bindi IrwinQueensland’s family at the Australian Zoo. He is practical with early childhood animals and is frequently featured in zoo programs and special events.
Robert also made a movie The 6-year-old debut starring in the 2010 film Free Willy: Escape from Pirate’s Cove.
He is a photographer and a television personality.
Beyond his work at the zoo, Robert became a talented wildlife photographer, his photos appearing at exhibitions, and even more Australia’s Geographical. He also co-hosted a television segment on animals. Tonight’s show starring Jimmy Fallonwhere he became a fan favorite guest who showed off his exotic creatures.

Robert joined Dance with the stars Autumn 2025 Season 34. He is affiliated with professional dancers Whitney Carsonand together, they quickly became one of the most talked about couples of the season.
