Ross McElwee’s ‘Remake’ wins Venice Golden Globes impact documentary prize

Ross McEl Blue Remake He won the Golden Globe Award for Impact, a documentary at the Venice Film Festival.

Competing from competition in the festival’s official selection, McElwee’s film is an archive-based film following his relationship with McElwee and his son Adrian before and after Adrian’s death.

The film was awarded a $10,000 prize from the Artemis Rising Foundation, and not only supports the award, it is working on an impact campaign with Think-Film Impact Production.

The award is intended to honor documentary feature films in the official festival selection. This brings attention to important social issues with journalistic and creative skills.

The winners were selected by a ju-member consisting of Golden Globes president Helen Hone, founder and CEO of Artemis Rising Foundation, Regina K. Scully, actors Jarrell Jerome, Theoyu, producer Geralyn White, screenwriters Misan Sagay, Edouard Ponty, and founder of Sinflum Impact Productions and Daniel Turkov Wilson.

Ju-dean believes it is “an incredibly emotional, personal and moving film” that they said is “an example of documentary creativity and excellence and the power of films to reach and influence the audience.”

The film is produced by Mark Meatto and McElwee for the giant squid. Cinetic Media handles global sales.

At a press conference following the festival’s official award, Gianfranco Rossi, winner of the special jujju Award for documentaries Under the cloudscalled on the festival to do more to celebrate the non-fiction title.
