Seattle Elects Democratic Socialist

In the Seattle mayoral race, the final votes for self-proclaimed socialist Katie Wilson were counted on November 13th, and Democratic socialist incumbent Bruce Harrell conceded, leaving Seattle to be led by a democratic socialist.

Washington’s all-mail election system allows ballots postmarked by Election Day, Nov. 4, to be counted, giving Wilson a lead as mail-in ballots that arrived later were counted.
