Sheffield DocFest to open with Kim Hopkins’ ‘Still Pushing Pineapples’

Kim Hopkins’ world premiere I’m still pushing pineapplewill open the 32nd edition of the UK Sheffield Docfest on June 18th.

The film follows Denne Michael, former lead singer of Black Lace, best known for novelty party records, on a journey with his partner and aging mother.

It is produced by Margareta Sabo and produced by Labor of Love Films in the UK, associated with Tiger Lily 2 and one wave film.

Nikki Parrott will act as an executive producer and Nan Davies will act as a co-producer. Other executive producers include Luke W. Moody, Mark Thomas, Danicarlow, Kia Simpson, Kim Warner, Caroline Cooper Charles and Herbert Lockwood.

Describing the film, Hopkins states:I’m still pushing pineapple It explores Dane’s resilience and humanity, embodying the spirit of ordinary working-class people amid the collapse of industrial disorders. ”

Sheffield Docfest will be held from June 18th to 23rd.
