Shudder acquires English-speaking territories to SXSW hit ‘Good Boy’, Altitude boards sales for Cannes

Exclusive: Shudder has acquired supernatural thrillers from North America, the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand Good girlAdvanced will be featured for international sales and introduced to Cannes buyers this month.

Ben Leonberg’s feature directorial debut premieres on SXSW and is told through the eyes of the dog as he detects malignant groups in the owner’s new home and fights to protect the person he loves most. The cast includes Larry Fessenden and Stuart Rudin.

Leonberg and Alex Cannon co-written a film starring the director’s family doggy. Leonberg’s wife, Kari Fisher, served as producer, adapted their country’s home to the haunted house environment. Production took over 400 days over three years.

Amy Beecroft, head of Verve Ventures, negotiated a deal with Emily Gotto, the SVP of Shudder, which Good Boy said was a “singular experience of perspective-driven horror.” Leonberg is represented by the Nord group Verve and Ryan Nord.

Altitude screening good boy It will be held at Cannes Market from May 13th to 21st.
