We are now in the golden age of fantasy RPGs. Oblivion Remastered will bring back the 2006 classic for the New Age. Baldur’s Gate 3 has brought the CRPG to the spotlight. Eldenling has proven that fromsoftware’s favor for the challenge is located in the open world. There are so many different kinds of fantasy experiences today that the two aren’t completely similar, so there’s plenty of reason to get stuck. Now inspired by Skyrim and Oblivion, The Polluted Holy Grail: The Destruction of Avalon You are about to join these ranks to get closer to a full 1.0 launch.
The Polluted Holy Grail: Avalon’s Fall is truly a fantasy RPG. After stepping into the legendary world of Arthur, after being stuck in the eternal autumn, you must choose how to leave marks on the land. You can explore, talk to countless NPCs, choose your playstyle, and complete a wide range of quests that will ultimately determine what King Arthur’s reign will leave on the land after 600 years of struggle.
If you choose to play Skyrim, Oblivion, Avowed, or any number of role-playing games, you will feel like you’re at home in the contaminated Holy Grail. You can engage in alchemy, cooking, mining, agriculture, home management, and even fishing. What is the best place to go in the fantasy world without fishing? Developer Questline has steadily improved its contaminated Holy Grail since its launch of Early Access in 2023, but is finally about to leap to 1.0.
When the contaminated Holy Grail accesses steam early, you’ll be given everything the game has to offer. This means exploring three different regions that explore up to 70 hours of gameplay, branching main story, over 200 side quests, over 250 NPCs, dungeons, weapons and more. This will be a complete experience, but there is another bonus for new and returning players.
Questline confirms that the contaminated Grail 1.0 comes with a fully functional third-person mode. This new perspective is “far from perfect” at launch, but at least offers a new way of playing. Questline says it wants to add perspective as an accessibility feature, and I love it. As someone who constantly exchanges between perspectives in the open world of Skyrim and Oblivion, I certainly contaminate Grail’s third person mode for spin.
Questline confirms that the fall for the Contaminated Holy Grail: Avalon 1.0 release date is set for Friday, May 23rd. You can either buy the Steam Early Access version or play the free demo here.
The 1.0 launch of contaminated Grail is round the corner, so check out all the best fantasy games in the meantime. Otherwise, the best games like Skyrim will keep you busy.
