South Korea Scrambles to Implement Trade Deal With US After Trump Tariff Threat

After US President Donald Trump announced his intention to raise tariffs on South Korea, the South Korean presidential office announced that it would work to implement the 2025 trade agreement with the US.
In a statement released by Yonhap News on January 27, the South Korean presidential office announced that South Korean Industry Minister Kim Jong-kwang, who is currently visiting Canada, will visit the United States and meet with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick. Similarly, South Korean Trade Minister Yeo Hank is scheduled to meet with US Trade Representative Jamison Greer.
