Last month, Saber Interactive confirmed it Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 It will likely win a second year of support after launch – it’s very popular and it’s hardly surprising given that Space Marine 3 is a long way off. Still, it was reassuring to hear that more content was in the middle. And from what Saber first revealed, it sounds pretty epic. With the second year and Patch 10 arriving in September, Helbrute Onslaught, the delayed PVP mode for Space Marine 2, also hit the cooperative shooter, knowing how the Mech Injection Gameplay Loop works.
Dropting Patch 9 is refreshing, and the team behind Space Marine 2 has released a new blog post today sharing some information about what’s coming with Patch 10. Initially, it was intended to be already in the hands of the player before being hit by the delay, but this new PVP mode sounds worth the wait. Giving players many unique experiences is one of the ways to solidify your status as one of the best cooperative games, but giving them a mecue (most of the time) makes them even faster.
We already knew that Helbrute’s onslaught was a chaos vs chaos competitive mode. They put the two teams against each other in an objective battle for control of the Hellboot mecha. Thanks to these new details from Saber, we know how you can get the chance to pilot the Monstrous Machine.
“The first team that controls the purpose will be in control of Hellboot until the other team defeats it,” Saber says. “One player can control Hell Boot at once, and this player is randomly chosen among the players who participate in securing control points. To have Hell Boot on his side, teams that fail to secure the first control point must kill Hell Boot before securing a new designated control point.
But if you don’t have some ridiculous weapons to use as well, what use is it stomping on mech? Thankfully, this new mode of Herbrute comes equipped with a powerful melee Thunderhammer and a plasma cannon for ranged attacks. delicious.
Away from the Helbrute onslaught, Saber confirms that a new PVP mode has arrived, which promotes all conflict modes in Space Marine 2. Although it’s not a name yet, the studio shared some screenshots (including those below), confirming it’s a set of Avarax, explaining that it has a “mix of a close quarter and a long corridor.”
Another new weapon has also been revealed. When the second year was first destroyed a few weeks ago, Saber said the power axe would be coming to Space Marine 2.
In addition to this, we also first saw Chaos Spawn, the enemy of the new Majoris, and “there are three different variations, each with its own move set and abilities.”
Space Marine 2 Patch 10 arrives as a free update in September and will begin content for the game’s second year. There is also a new Premium Second Year Season Pass packed with cosmetics and exclusive items. If you would like to read Saber’s entire blog, please see here.
