It’s no secret that the Pittsburgh Steelers are waiting to hear Aaron Rodgers’ decision. The four-time league MVP played two seasons with the New York Jets. In the first week of the 2023 season, Rodgers tore Achilles on the fourth play of the game, missing out on the rest of the season. He started all 17 games for the Jets in 2024. However, New York released Rogers in mid-March. There was mutual interest between the Steelers and Aaron Rodgers.
All signs point to Rodgers, who played for the Steelers in 2025. Pittsburgh will still need to sign the All-Pro QB on their contract next season. Recently, Steelers Hall of Fame QB Terry Bradshaw shared his frustration with the team chasing Aaron Rodgers. Bradshaw called it a “joke,” and Rogers said, “We need to stay in California. We’ll go somewhere and bite the bark and whisper to the gods there.”
Not only was he criticized by Aaron Rodgers, but Bradshaw also spoke about how the team failed to Kenny Pickett. Terry Bradshaw thought Pickett had talent. Pittsburgh traded Pickett for the Eagles and won the Super Bowl in 2024 as a backup. He is currently competing for a starting spot in Cleveland. Terry Bradshaw’s account has made the Steelers move in the wrong direction. He’s not a fan of the team signing Rodgers over a season and has no long-term options. However, the team drafted Ohio State’s Wil Howard in the sixth round.
