Fans have criticized Stipe Miocic for playing the upcoming 309 UFC matches against Jon Jones, with many supporters hoping for a smash hit battle for the current UFC heavyweight champion.

Stipe Miocic responds to critics

UFC 309 has appeared in just a week, and many are still complaining about Stipe Miocic’s appointment against John Jones, the main card of Fight Night in New York.

Many UFC fans wanted to see the age battle between John Jones and Tom Aspinoll in UFC 309, but instead the Jones battle was handed over to dodge Maisic.

Ahead of this week’s fight, Myosic reminded fans that he has no choice as to who he will fight in the octagon, and that the UFC blames Jones for not holding Aspinel.

When asked why he agreed to fight Jones, Miocic said:

“(Tom Aspinol is tough. He bumps hard. Big boy. That’s what people want, he knocks people out.”

Miocic-Jones is of course a funny heavyweight clash, but it’s not a heavyweight title match between champion Jon Jones and UFC Rising Superstar’s Tom Aspinall.

However, the noise has not reached Miocic prior to his UFC 309 crash. The 42-year-old uses his vast experience in the ring to keep him out of hatred.

“I’ve heard nothing outside,” Miocic said. “When I was younger, when I started, why do you say that? Why do I dare you? I was really sensitive. I literally stopped being considerate. I don’t care what anyone says.

Miocic will have the opportunity to issue a serious statement to Jon ‘Bones’ Jones next weekend.
