The Internet contains many. For everyone who donates to cancer streamers to raise money for treatment, there are scammers looking for an opportunity to steal it all. That’s what happened to Rastalandtv, a streamer who was raising funds for cancer treatments at the crypto streaming service pump. Viewers jumped into his chat and asked him to play their games live in return for their donations. Rastaland downloaded the game Block Blaster steam And then I started playing. Eventually, he says that all the money he raised was stolen.
After Rastaland shared his experience on the X-Post, Valve removed the block blaster from Steam. “I can’t breathe, I can’t think of it, im(sic) I can’t shake up the feeling that it’s completely lost in what happens next and that it’s my fault,” he says.
Block blasters appear to contain malware, but their exact nature is still unknown. The most common scams include keyloggers that track passwords when you enter them, and software that gives hackers that operate offline to complete control over your PC. However, many cryptocurrency commentators call it a “crypto drainer” tool that specifically targets crypto wallets.
Rastalandtv, who had stage 4 cancer and was fundraising for treatment at the time, she shed tears when she realized what had happened. Block Blaster looked like a completely legitimate game. It was released on Steam in June, and according to Wayback Machine, 114 reviews landed “very positive” ratings, although some claim that these are fakes.
In the hours since Rastaland’s light-form went viral, many cryptography personalities reached out to donate to his fundraiser. Alex Becker, who boasts 1.3 million followers on X, has sent the entire $32,000 to his new safe wallet. Many others have donated too.

People believe they have tracked down scammers, but crypto transactions are not as reversible as something like a credit card. This incident highlights some of the issues with cryptocurrency and undoubtedly Steam moderation policies.
