update:
The Trump administration’s pledge to “actively” start a “active” revocation visa for Chinese students comes after years of concern over the Chinese administration’s efforts to infiltrate American academia.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on May 29 that the US will begin revoking China’s student visas. It has announced that it will target people with ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in particular and study in important fields. It will also amend visa standards to enhance scrutiny of future visa applications.
