On the news, the Bucs went outside and signed the veteran QB to the roster. Teddy Bridgewater will visit with Tampa Bay on Tuesday and sign with the team. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported first. The 32-year-old is a backup QB that brings stability and insurance to the roster.

In the 2014 NFL Draft, the Vikings used their 32nd pick to select QB Teddy Bridgewater from Louisville. During his 10-year NFL career, Bridgewater played in six franchises. The Buccaneers will be his seventh. His last important playing time in the NFL was the 2022 season. Bridgewater played in five Dophis games and got two starts.
Over the last two regular seasons, Bridgewater appeared in one game for the Detroit Lions. He served as a backup for Jared Goff in December 2024. The veteran QB was also on the Lions playoff run roster. At the end of a 45-31 defeat to the commander, Bridgewater attempted one pass.
