Texas Democrats Vow Not to ‘Make It Easy’ for Republicans’ Redistricting Efforts Before Midterms

Texas Senate Democrats were stuck for hours and tried to stop the establishment of a Congressional District Committee. This could add Republican seats during the midterm elections as lawmakers were convened in Austin for a special session on July 21st.

The Texas Senate ultimately voted 19-11 votes in favor of creating the committee after the marathon session on the first day of the 30-day special session.
