It’s almost time Marvel Rival The 3.5 update brings players a wealth of new content midway through the third season. The roster of free-to-play shooters is about to expand by adding blades, so the game mode offering is also about to expand. However, existing hero meta is also set to undergo a shakeup. Not only does the balance change occur, but the team up has also earned a major refresh with new additions, rework and withdrawals.

Of course, you can lead your team to victory and try it out by becoming a more selfish slayer, but the teamwork and clever team composition really pays dividends with Marvel rivals. Team-up capabilities are completely similar to this, but NetEase will make some changes to the current lineup once the 3.5 update arrives. Keeping the freshest thing in meta is a core component of many of the best free PC games, but you could be a bit disappointed that the team up involving the main is on the way.

Let’s start by removing it. The two-person team up has been completely discarded. The first is Guardian Revival, featuring Adam Warlock, who is affiliated with either Mantis or Star Lord. The second is Atlas Bond, which combines Iron Fist and Luna Snow.

Loki will also be unable to bring out Ragnarok’s regenerative abilities along with Hera – Trickster has been removed, so now only Thor and Hera can use it on the battlefield.

But it’s not all reductive – Netease is adding two all-new team-ups to Marvel Rivals 3.5, which rehoses some of the heroes affected by the above cuts. The first is Duality Dance. This gives Luna Snow the opportunity to work with Adam Warlock. The second is vibrant vitality, allowing Mantis to team up with either Loki or Groot. The video above is an early look at what these new team-ups have to offer.

Finally, NetEase has switched several heroes both inside and outside of existing team-ups. Iron Fist can now be featured in Chilling Assault, which previously only featured Luna Snow and Hawkeye. Rocket Network is welcome at Star Road, which can be linked with Rocket Raccoon alongside Peni Parker. Finally, Lunar Force, which currently features Cloak & Dagger and Moon Knight, expands to include Blade, the new hero in Update 3.5.

The Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 update arrives on Friday, August 8th. Patch notes that outline all the changes to balance of individual heroes are approaching the time, but for now it should help you prepare ahead of team-up changes and ahead of the inevitable metashift.

Once the update lands, check out the Marvel Rival Tierists to see which heroes still reign in the best of their rule. Or, here are some better multiplayer games that will allow you and your friends to get stuck.
