Israel’s Atomic Energy Commission (IAEC) says the US and Israel attacked Iran on Sunday.

In its handouts, the IAEC alleged that the “catastrophic” strike had destroyed the site’s critical infrastructure.

“We appreciate that America’s strike at Iran’s nuclear facilities combined with Israel’s strikes regarding other elements of Iran’s military nuclear programme has led to a regression in Iran’s long-standing ability to develop nuclear weapons,” the statement said.

The statement was originally shared by the White House and was later released in X by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Israel’s assessment is inconsistent with leaked intelligence report from the United States. This suggests that Iran’s nuclear program has only retreated for a few months and has not been “completely and completely wiped out” as US President Donald Trump has argued.

A report issued by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) on Monday is in conflict with statements from Trump and Netanyahu about the situation at Iran’s nuclear facilities.

The US report found that while Sunday attacked with Fordow, Natantz and Isfahan nuclear sites caused major damage, but the facility was not completely destroyed.

Washington has harbored hopes of resuming negotiations with Tehran and convincing them to abandon the nuclear program altogether, but some experts fear that the US strike will push Iran towards developing a functional nuclear weapon.

Information assessments also suggest that at least some of the extremely rich uranium in Iran needed to create nuclear weapons had moved from multiple sites before the US attacked.

He added that the centrifuge needed to further enrich uranium to weapon grade levels is almost intact.

Buried under the mountain north of QOM city, US stealth bombers dropped several km,000 kilograms of bunkerbuster bombs, causing them to collapse the entrance and damage infrastructure.

However, the facility itself was not destroyed, the information assessment found.

The White House rejected the DIA’s assessment, calling it “completely wrong,” and Trump defended his characterization of the impact of the strike.

“It’s an erased thing and you’ll see it,” Trump told reporters while attending the NATO summit in the Netherlands.

He said intelligence was “very inconclusive,” and described the media outlet to report it as “scum.”

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegses, who is also present at the NATO summit, said there is a survey into how the intelligence report rating was leaked and rejected as “backup” and “low confidence.”

“These leaks are professional stabs,” said Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
