In the 90s, an incredible number of adventure games came out, some of which became classics in decades since. There are more about Tentacle Everyday, Grimm Fandango, or King Quest 6, which is still celebrated today, like a compelling entry into the obscure genre. One of them is Azrael’s tearscreate something clearer by combining the first person perspectives of Myst and Riven, with the conspiratorial background of Deus Ex or Gabriel Knight 3. Now, nearly 30 years since it first arrived, thanks to the GOG renewal, it’s easier than ever to bring Azrael tears.

Azrael’s Tears is an adventure game set at the beginning of the 3rd Millennium, in which players discover the Holy Grail as the strange form of a distant busy archaeologist called the “Raptor” and try to restore a devastating world with their power. The premise of this novel is explored through the story of birds of prey challenging an underground temple called the Knights Templars and looking for the Holy Grail in a vast environment filled with mutant creatures.

As the game is expected from the times, Azrael’s Tears involve solving many puzzles. It is presented here as part of the game world and is navigated from a first person perspective in a truly mystical way. Unlike Myst, however, the game also features a wide range of characters from ghosts and knights, according to Gog Page’s description “Mutant Dinosaurs.”

If any of them are intriguing, you can now check it out for yourself. Azrael Tears have just been released on GOG and the price has been reduced to USD 8.60/£7.69 with a 10% discount. Get a copy here.
