Exclusive: British marketing, distribution and sales company Together Films has launched ‘The Business of Impact’, a development lab and pitch program to support UK-based producers in creating socially resonant and commercially ambitious scripted works.

The five-month program is supported by the BFI Creative Challenge Fund and is run through Impact Together, the not-for-profit arm of Together Films. Support 10 projects and up to 20 producers to power your commercial strategy while developing campaigns with real-world impact.

Participants will participate in 10 virtual sessions and two in-person development days, culminating in a live pitch event in June 2026.

At the event, each producer will present their project to a room filled with industry leaders, investors and philanthropic supporters, and distribution partners who support socially relevant storytelling.

The program is aimed at UK-based producers who are developing scripted film projects with social relevance and commercial ambitions.

Sarah Moss, founder and CEO of Together Films, said The Business of Impact is “an initiative that directly responds to what producers need: strategic clarity, funding channels and access to the right talent. Socially relevant scripted projects are essential to shaping the public imagination, and this Lab will provide creators with the practical and commercial support to bring those stories to life.”

“Specifically designed for producers developing scripted feature films, The Business of Impact Lab addresses a critical gap in the industry by deepening our expertise in finance, impact strategy and packaging, the core areas that determine whether a project succeeds or falters,” said Mia Bayes, director of the BFI Film Production Fund.

According to Together Films, the ideal applicant is an emerging or established producer with at least one production credited and currently looking to build a strategic roadmap for their next project. The program is particularly suited to projects that demonstrate the potential to engage communities, partners and audiences beyond the screen.

Applications for the Lab and Pitch program close on Friday, January 2, 2026.
