Tommy Robinson, a far-right activist, was arrested by British police in late July in connection with assault at St. Pancras Station in London.

Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley Lennon, was arrested Monday evening after disembarking from the plane at Luton Airport. The arrest came following notice that Robinson had boarded his next flight from Faro, Portugal.

In a statement, the British Transport Police (BTP) said: “BTP officers arrested a 42-year-old man from Bedfordshire tonight (August 4) in connection with the attack at St. Pancras Station on July 28th.”

“This man was asked to ask questions after leaving the country in Tenerife early on July 29th after the incident in St. Pancras.”

“He was arrested on suspicion of GBH (severe physical harm) and will now be taken into custody for interrogation,” the statement said.

Although the BTP statement was not named Robinson, CCTV footage of the July 28 incident showed former leader of the far-right English Defense League, walking next to a 64-year-old man lying on the ground, claiming to have acted in self-defense.

In a widely circulated video online, you can hear Robinson say, “He came to me.” The clips didn’t show how the man got to the floor.

Last week, the BTP said the man suffered “serious but life-threatening injuries” following the incident at the station. Police say the man was released from the hospital Thursday.

Robinson is one of the UK’s most influential far-right figures, regularly expressing Islamophobic, racist and misleading opinions in interviews and social media.
