The FBI announced Thursday that one of the department’s top 10 most wanted fugitives was arrested this week on suspicion of murder of his son and is currently set to be charged in Texas.
Two years ago, Cindy Rodriguez Singh was charged with capital murder in the death of her young son, Noel Alvarez, according to a notice released by the FBI last year. Officials said the boy hadn’t been alive since October 2022, but in 2023 Texas officials conducted welfare checks on behalf of the child. According to the FBI, Rodriguez Singh “lied to the officers when he explained that the boy lived with his biological father in Mexico.” She said he has been there since November 2022.
