Trump Announces 30 Percent Tariff on EU, Mexico

President Donald Trump has announced a 30% tariff on imports from the European Union and Mexico, and has announced that it will come into effect on August 1st.

In a letter posted to social media on July 12, Trump said the two trading partners had imposed various tariffs and non-tax trade barriers on the United States over the years, and that the obligations they currently face are trying to correct the imbalance.
