Breaking News: Donald Trump has approved the first shipment of US military equipment to Ukraine since taking office, The Times reports. The move follows the much-anticipated mineral trade between the US and Ukraine.
According to the Kyiv Post, the Trump administration has informed Congress of its plans to allow direct commercial sales (DC) of defense equipment worth more than $50 million. The notice was sent on the Tuesday, one day before the mineral contract was officially signed.
A source close to the Ukrainian government told the Times:

The US president called the Ukrainian leader a dictator and accused him of refusing to cooperate in ending what is called a meaningless, bloody war.
Now, following the signing of a natural resources agreement with Ukraine, the Trump administration has made a U-turn on its stance against Zelensky and Kiev, and on Russia, where the Treasury Secretary has been accused of an invasion “completely blown away.”
