Trump Says Federal Authorities Won’t Respond to Protests in Democrat-Led Cities Unless Asked

President Donald Trump announced Saturday that federal authorities would not intervene in protests in Democratic-led jurisdictions but would continue to forcefully protect federal property.

“I have directed Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, under no circumstances, to participate in poorly run cities under Democratic administrations regarding protests and riots unless and until we request assistance,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
