WASHINGTON – The US government has criminally charged David Fuerta, president of California’s United Nations Service Employees (SEIU), with conspiracy to block immigration-related detention in Los Angeles.

On June 6, Fuerta was reportedly in conspiring with other protesters to have a special agent in the US Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrive to implement a search warrant for a company that is allegedly employing illegal immigrants without approval.
