US, China Gear Up for High-Stakes Meeting in London

Rare-earth exports have resumed, but are below the levels outlined in the Geneva agreement, Trump’s economic adviser says.

WASHINGTON – Trade negotiators from the US and China returned to the table on June 9th, but this time in London, they are making new efforts in new efforts to break the deadlock after last month’s Geneva talks failed to produce meaningful results.

The High Stakes Conference followed President Donald Trump’s call with Chinese leader Xi Jinping on June 5, and after that, Trump announced that a dispute over China’s rare earth export restrictions (a key obstacle to trade talks) had been resolved.
