US Enlists ‘Amerikaners’ to Identify Applicants for South African Refugee Program

On September 8, the US Embassy in South Africa added a group called “Amerikaners” to its institution’s list, which helps identify applicants for the Trump administration’s African Refugee Resettlement Program.

He said the US mission is America’s designated State Department referral partner. It will be involved in gathering information from potential applicants to assess whether there are any lawsuits eligible for review by the US Refugee Enrollment Program (USRAP) and refer to the case to the department.
