The U.S. Department of Transport imposed new restrictions on flight operations from Mexico to the United States on July 19, in response to flight restrictions that Mexico had previously taxed the United States.

Under the new restrictions, Mexico must submit schedules to the transportation sector for all US operations and obtain department approval to operate large passenger or freight charter flights between Mexico and the US.
