Venice documentary ‘Sudan, Remember Us’ acquired for UK-Ireland

Exclusive: Hind Meddeb’s Civil War documentary Sudan, remember us It was picked up for UK-Ireland theatre distribution by Tape Collective, with a release date set on June 27th.

The film was taken from the world and totem film, which premiered in Venice at Giornato Del Grey Autry Sidebar, as well as in Toronto.

Filmmeker’s Meddeb, a French and Tunician Moroccan journalist, traveled to Sudan in 2019 to film a sit-in protest. There, she continued filming for four years and met a group of young activists who called for reform after decades of military dictatorship. We explore the power of hope, poetry and song for the background of war.

France-Tunicia’s co-produced works are produced by Paris-based echo film Abel Namias, Paris-based blue train films Michel Zana and Alice Ormiere, and Tunisia’s My Way Tao Giga.

Marks the fourth feature by Meddeb, a French and Tunician Moroccan journalist-turned-filmaker Electro Chabi, The Clash in Tunisia and Paris Stalingrad.

Tape Collective distributes films with a focus on recently acquired representations, identities and heritage At Nguyen Kitchen By Stéphane Ly-Cuong in Party Sales.
