Do you have a gym membership or loyalty card in your wallet? Well, US President Donald Trump has just launched the ultimate club.
It’s called the Peace Committee. What is your official goal? Ending the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza. But is this really the case?
The leaked charter suggests that the organization is actually a rival to the United Nations, with President Trump as its president and President Vladimir Putin on the guest list.
Just like an upscale country club, there is an admission fee. Want a permanent seat? That’s $1 billion in cash. Basically, it’s $10 million.
If you do not pay, your membership will expire in three years.
France, seeing the price and the fact that it would undermine the United Nations, said it would “not relent.”
President Trump did not take the rejection well. He threatened to impose a 200% tariff on French wine. So let’s do the math. That bottle of champagne you always buy for $50? It can quickly cost you $150.
And here in the EU? Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has reminded his country’s president that he can’t just buy seats. Requires parliamentary approval.
Finally, in the world of politics, silence is often louder than what is said. Furthermore, the word “Gaza” is not even mentioned in the leaked peace committee’s charter.
So until I find a billion to spare to join the club…rest in peace.
