Walmart Agrees to $10 Million Settlement Over FTC Lawsuit on Money Transfer Scams

Walmart has agreed to pay $10 million to resolve the settlement fees filed by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). This accused scammers of using money transfer services to steal funds from customers and turning their eyes on fraudsters, the statement said in a June 20th.
The lawsuit against Walmart was filed by the FTC in June 2022 in District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. The lawsuit said Walmart “knows well” that people will steer people to use their company’s remittance services to send money back to national and international fraud rings.
