“Our party once had the courage to do big and bold things,” the former vice presidential candidate said.

Former vice presidential candidate Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz told South Carolina Democrat voters on May 31 that their party has lost their way and needs to revive their identity as Democrats prepare to challenge Congress and governor control in 2026.

Waltz, a running companion to former Vice President Kamala Harris Kamala Harris in 2024, gave a keynote address at the Democratic Treaty of South Carolina, opened up in the general criticism of President Donald Trump’s second administration, referring to topics that include one big beautiful bill law, government efficiency, tax policy, and the president’s decision to accept the president’s Qatar gift.
