Saber Interactive has treated us to an early holiday treat. warhammer 40k space marines 2 Techmarine. The new class is expected to arrive in early 2026 and will further enhance one of the best Warhammer 40k games on the market. As Space Marines’ highly trained technicians, they are an ideal choice if you want to supplement your combat proficiency with tools and support weapons. They also sit at the perfect intersection of all the years I’ve played as an Engineer in TF2 and my affinity for Adeptus Mechanicus.

“We’re heading towards the end of the year, which means we’re getting closer to adding Techmarines,” the Space Marines 2 developer writes in a new community blog. We’re finally starting to see a little more respect for Chaos following Patch 11 and the Reuse Update, but there’s already a lot planned for 2026. Early next year, Patch 12 will introduce another PvE mission, a Battlebarge expansion, a new strategy, and two paid champion packs, but what I’m most excited about are new classes.

As newcomers break through the horizon, Saber says, “It’s time to start sharing little by little what we’ve been preparing for this new class.” First up is Tech Marine’s iconic power weapon, the Omnissian Ax. It’s a striking halberd design with a notched blade on one side and a vise on the other, giving it both weight and functionality. Saber also promises all the usual complements, including unique animations, finishers, and progression.

In addition to this, the Techmarine has a servo gun feature that, when activated, allows it to automatically engage nearby enemies. Expanding your defense options further, you can restore Tarantula Sentry Guns encountered around the world. Saber points out that these will spawn in existing PvE levels, so there should be plenty to work on.

“Finally, you may be wondering which Traitor Legion the Chaos Techmarine will be associated with in PvP,” the developer teases. “We can’t spoil too much right now, but we’ll have more details in the coming weeks.” Send us a postcard with your best guess. As with most updates, Saber says we can expect Patch 12 PTS before the full version, so hopefully it won’t be long before we get Techmarine out for testing.

Warhammer Space Marine 2 is 60% off on Steam until Thursday, December 4th. That means you only pay $23.99 / £21.99 to buy it. It’s an ideal time to join your friends on the front lines of the fight against the Tyranids and the forces of Chaos. That way you’ll be ready when Tech Marine makes its debut.
