On Thursday, April 24th, the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft will take place in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Tennessee has notified teams trying to trade up that they are still on the #1 pick.
Titans are expected to opt for Miami’s Come Ward. NFL insiders report that the Browns are expected to take Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter in Pick #2. On Wednesday, Abdul Carter spoke to the media. He was asked about the teams who have the best feelings about heading into the draft on Thursday. Carter replied, “New York,” and mentioned the giant.
Are the Giants rocks taking Abdul Carter on their third pick?

In 2025, draft analysts said the first two picks felt more like rock than Thursday night. Tennessee chooses QB Come Ward, while the Browns take WR/CB Travis Hunter. That way, the Giants have several options. Will they take back the best players available, trade back, or perhaps take their own QB? Pennsylvania’s Abdul Carter spoke to the media on Wednesday.
He was asked which teams have the best feelings about heading into the draft. Without hesitation, Carter said, “Definitely New York.” During the same media session, Carter was asked what it was like to play in New York, which has Philadelphia roots. Carter replied, “If I go to New York, I’m all New York, and I have to leave Philadelphia behind.”
Abdul Carter is not shy about his connection to the Giants. He visited several times with the team throughout the draft process. Carter was the top edge rusher of this year’s class and had a dominant senior season in 2024. His 24 defeated tackles led the nation. He also scored 68 combined tackles and 12.0 sacks and was named to the Nationals. Carter elicited a comparison with Mika Parsons of the Cowboys for several reasons. They both wore #11 in Pennsylvania and played similar styles of football. We’ll see if the Giants will draft Hunter on Thursday.
