In the 2015 NFL Draft, the Seahawks chose WR Tyler Rocket in the third round for Kansas. For over 10 seasons, Rocket played 161 games and started 134. As a rookie, Rockett had 51 catches and six touchdowns for 664 yards. He won the first team All-Pro Selection in 2015. Its production was not nearing its best season in Seattle.
During the 2020 campaign, Rockett scored a career-high 100 catches, along with 1,054 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. It was one of two of his career, and he had over 10 touchdowns in his single season. Over the past two years, Rocket productions have begun to immerse themselves in the Seahawks. Not only did Lockett get older, but the team drafted Jaxson Smith-Njigba. In 2024 he overtook the Rocket position in WR2 for the Seahawks.
Because the Seahawks chose to release Tyler Rockett. He is free to sign a new contract with the team every time he chooses. Rocket doesn’t have to wait until March 12th like any other free agent. His former Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll will be Las Vegas head coach next season. This is the natural landing site for the one-off All-Pro. NFL scouts view the 2024 draft class as weak compared to 2024. Teams can add veteran WRs like Tyler Rocket this offseason as a cheaper option. We’ll see what his future holds.
