Why did Camila Cabello leave Fifth Harmony?
The overall reason for Camilla’s fifth harmony was to pursue a solo career. In a March 2024 interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the “Cry for Me” artist gradually recalled that she gradually “swelled the distance.”
“I remember waking up on tour and going to my hotel room around 7am to the garage band. I love writing songs. I didn’t want to do it while everyone was there, so there was a passion that changed to writing,” Camilla explained. “And at first I said, ‘Oh, I want to write for others.’ But it turned out to be “No, I actually want to sing these songs myself.” …I started to distance myself from group vision, but I felt like I knew they were still really passionate and interested in it.
Nevertheless, Camila points out that she “has grown a lot with that group,” and she is grateful for her time with them.
