The grieving widow demands answers about her husband’s death after his body is found in the toilet in a Scottish council building six days after he entered the cubicle.

Julie Stephen, 48, said she believes her husband, Shawn’s body has been lying in the bathroom at the Edinburgh City Chamber of Commerce for almost a week.

She claimed she was talking to her husband over the phone when she entered the Royal Mile Council building on July 1st.

Stephen reportedly called police that night and became unreachable, complaining that he was “not feeling well,” but his body was not found until July 7th.

“I have a CCTV footage on the phone and I’m climbing the Royal Mile to the council building,” she told Daily Records, a national newspaper in Scotland.

“He said he was healthy, but he was dizzy and sick. He said he was going to take a taxi. He answered the phone as he went to the bathroom. That was the last time I told him.”

“No one was in that bathroom for six days? That baffled me. Could he have been saved? These are the questions that have been in my head for the rest of my life,” she told the paper.

Stephen said her 38-year-old husband’s body had been significantly broken down at the time of discovery and she was not allowed to see him, but police could only identify him in a DNA match.

“At 9:20pm on Tuesday, July 1st, a 38-year-old man from the Edinburgh area received a concern that he had not been appointed in advance,” a police Scotland spokesman said.

“Emergency services were present (following the body discovery) and the man was declared dead at the scene. Death is considered inexplainable, but not considered suspicious.

Edinburgh City Council said it is helping police contact them.

“We continue to support the Scottish Police’s inquiries and cannot comment further at this stage. During this difficult time, our thoughts and the opinions of Pathetic Dol are with his family and friends,” the spokesman said.

The couple’s friends set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds for his funeral expenses.
